Israel and Ho Chi Minh City Foster Collaboration in Start-up Ventures and Tourism

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Phan Van Mai, met with Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry, Nir Barkat, on August 14th. The two discussed potential cooperation in the fields of innovation and technology, with HCM City expressing its desire to learn from and partner with Israel. HCM City aims to become an innovation center in the region and has ample opportunities for collaboration in technology, startup, and innovation with Israeli partners. Hanois Tourism Booming Due to Special Summer Offerings

In the first six months of 2023, the total number of tourists to Hanoi is estimated at 12.33 million, up 42% from last year. Among them, international tourists were 2.03 million, seven times higher than the same period last year. The city’s tourism revenue was estimated at VND44.9 trillion (US$1.9 billion), up 74.3% year-on-year. The first half of tourism revenue met more than 50% of the full year’s target, while international arrivals are expected to meet 75% of the annual target. Mango fest to commence later this month in southern Vietnam

Provincial authorities on Wednesday held a press conference to announce the event, whose highlight will be a display of digital transformation applications which help remove many of the obstacles faced by local farmers. Eighteen activities are slated to take place before, during, and after the festival.  These include a story-writing contest, a children’s drawing competition, a photography contest, an exhibition showcasing mango products and local specialties from Dong Thap, and familiarization trips to mango farming areas. The festival will also include two seminars featuring discussions on measures to enhance the value, and promote the sustainable growth, of the province’s mango farming and tourism sectors. Vietnam enjoys post-pandemic period with festive Christmas celebrations

The last fortnight has seen major cities across the country excitedly prepare to welcome Christmas, with festive elements found around almost every corner. Primary schools and nurseries can be heard blaring out traditional Christmas songs to welcome arriving students, shopping centres have launched a range of promotions to lure in customers looking to buy gifts, and many businesses and residential buildings have put up an array of festive decorations to mark the occasion. Whilst these aspects of the holiday season have become more prevalent during December in Vietnam over the last few years, many traditional aspects of the festivities have so far failed to emerge in the way Vietnamese people celebrate the holiday.
