The “Heritage Photographic Contest – Journey of Heritages 2023” will be kicked off on April 1, stressing the importance of preserving cultural heritage and natural values. Professional and non-professional photographers, Vietnamese citizens, or foreigners living and working in Vietnam aged 18 years or older are eligible to participate in the contest. The prize was recently announced on the page of the Miss Universe beauty contest following the grand final held on January 15 in the United States. Ngoc Chau initially departed for the international competition on December 26, 2022, and put in a series of strong performances at the contest. Most notably, her sledge mat national costume at the 71st Miss Universe was selected among the Top 10 by prestigious beauty pageant website Missosology. During the grand final, Chau suffered elimination from prior to the Top 16 round, marking the first time a Vietnamese representative has failed to make the later stages of the competition. In previous versions of the competition, H’Hen Nie, a Top 5 finisher in 2018, Hoang Thuy, Top 20 in 2019, Khanh Van, Top 21 in 2020, and Kim Duyen, Top 16 in 2021, had all represented Vietnam at the event.
