Francophone Film Festival to wow Vietnamese audience

As part of cultural activities on the occasion of International Francophone Day, the festival will present seven films from nine countries including Vietnam, Switzerland, France, Canada, Tunisia and Belgium-Wallonie-Bruxelles. The films are “Dieu mua cuoi cung” (The last dance), “Duoi tan nhung cay sung ngot” (Under the canopy of sweet figs), “Bao lang” (Silent storm), “Thach Thao” (Bell heather), “Khoi nghiep kieu Phap” (French Entrepreneurship), “14 ngay 12 dem” (14 days 12 nights), “Co trong tre” (Babysitter). The films give the audience a chance to discover fascinating stories in the countries of the Francophonie and experience the Francophone community’s cultural diversity. FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy graces Vietnam for first time

The trophy visit is part of the promotional series for the tournament, scheduled to be held in Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20 this year. The hardware was unveiled at a ceremony held in Hanoi on Saturday morning, attracting hundreds of football fans in the Vietnamese capital city. Before stopping in Vietnam, it visited Japan on February 25 and 26, followed by a one-day pit stop in South Korea on February 27 and two days in the Philippines on March 2 and 3. Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Morocco, Ireland, Switzerland, and Zambia will also join Vietnam and the Philippines in welcoming the winners’ trophy for the first time. Discovering Quang Phu Cau incense-making village

In order to take beautiful photos in the area, tourists should choose sunny days in which to visit the incense village. As a traditional craft village, Quang Phu Cau village is busy almost all year round. On sunny days, drying incense is one of the main tasks done in the production of incense sticks, with the bouquets of incense being similar to giant flowers under the bright sunlight. Visitors are able to pay VND50,000 each to snap photos at the village. The village is definitely a beautiful check-in spot for foreign tourists to enjoy. Vietnamese culture introduced in France

The event themed “Vietnam on the stage” attracted the participation of a number of French citizens, both young and old people who are keen to learn about Vietnamese history and culture. Opening a series of promotional activities was a symposium that looked at the France – Vietnam relations from the Fontainebleau Conference in 1946 up to the historic visit of French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe to Vietnam in 2018. Pierre Journoud, PhD researcher and lecturer, highlighted the ups and downs of the history and special milestones which have been achieved in bilateral relations, offering plenty of interesting analysis. Hanoi plans to restore local relics with US$593.6 million
