Vietnamese rescue team begins search mission in Turkey

As many as 15 victims are thought to be buried somewhere in the rubble. After arriving at the scene, the team conduct a site survey and implement rescue plans. The rescue work is expected to run into a number of difficulties as local temperatures drop to minus six degrees Celsius. According to a representative of the team several collapsed buildings continue to fall in the area. The Vietnamese team are divided into two groups as they go where their services are needed most. They show their strong determination to fulfill their mission of providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Turkey. The dance of luck

The dance is usually performed during festivals and special occasions, particularly during Tet (Lunar New Year). The performance mimics a lion’s or a dragon’s movement to bring luck and prosperity in the new year. A family or a business visited by a lion dance performance is believed to have good luck for the rest of the year. The costumes and accessories used by the performers come in various colors and shapes, but all must inspire fear and power to chase away monsters and evils. Traditional dance is considered folk and martial art, as performers must master complex movements. The complex choreography is accompanied by drums called ‘the Seven-Star’ drums that can only be played by the master or second master of the dojo. The performance wouldn’t be complete without “Ong Dia,” the Spirit of the Earth, depicted as a jolly man with a palm-leaf fan. Meeting with representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy and community in Brunei right after arriving in the country on February 10 afternoon (local time) for a two-day official visit, PM Chinh affirmed that Vietnam has never had such fortune, potential, international position, and prestige as it does today, adding that the Vietnam-Brunei comprehensive partnership is developing fruitfully. He expressed his delight that the Vietnamese community in Brunei, though with a modest number of people, are strong and working in various areas from study, teaching to business.
