G20 Summit Preceded by Bilateral Meet between India and Bangladesh, 3 MoUs Signed
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in Digital Payment mechanism was signed between the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and Bangladesh Bank, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs. Another MoU focuses on the renewal of the Cultural Exchange Program (CEP) between India and Bangladesh for the period of 2023-2025. The third MoU was signed between the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Bangladesh Agriculture Research Council (BARC). During the bilateral meeting, Prime Minister Modi and Sheikh Hasina expressed their anticipation for the initiation of negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which will cover trade in goods and services, as well as investment protection and promotion, according to the MEA release.
