Vietnam and Japan Celebrate at Opening of Festival 2023 in Hanoi

The event was jointly organized by the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association in Hanoi and the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam. It took place at Dong Da district’s culture, information, and sports center. According to Kamitani Naoko, the director of the Japan Information and Culture Center at the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, regular cultural exchange activities have greatly contributed to a better understanding between Vietnamese and Japanese people. The festival featured a wide range of activities, including the third Vietnamese Haiku poetry seminar, which brought together 50 members from the Haiku poetry club under the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association and other clubs from across the country. There was also a seminar on the management of cherry blossom trees in Hanoi. Regarding tax, Vietnamese students who work part-time face income tax deductions. The tax rate for income tax of international students when working part-time in the first year in Japan is 20.42%. From the second year onwards, the Vietnamese are entitled to the same tax rates as the Japanese. Vietnam to Receive $15mn for 2023 Asian Games Telecast Rights

Television networks and sports rights enterprises in Vietnam were surprised by the price quoted for the broadcasting rights of the 2022 Asian Games. Negotiations are currently underway, but no entity in Vietnam has secured these rights yet. Originally scheduled for 2022, the 19th edition of the Asian Games was postponed to 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Games will now be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8, featuring 40 sports, 61 disciplines, and 483 events. A total of 45 countries and territories are expected to participate. Vietnam’s sports sector plans to send over 400 members, including more than 300 athletes, to the event, with the goal of winning at least three gold medals. China, as the host, has designated China Media Group (CMG) as the official broadcasting station and distributor of the telecast rights. The participants achieved groundbreaking achievements in both the men’s and women’s full marathon, setting new records. Takele Ebisa achieved a remarkable feat by completing the men’s marathon in a time of two hours, 26 minutes, and 11 seconds, surpassing the previous record of two hours, 32 minutes, and 16 seconds set by a talented Japanese athlete.
