Hanoi book fair to open in October

Hanoi will organize the 8th Hanoi Book Fair at the Hoan Kiem Lake Pedestrian Street from October 6 to 8.  The space of Hanoi Book Fair 2022. British experts discover new untouched caves in Quang Binh

According to Dinh Tien Dung, vice chairman of the Tuyen Hoa district administration, on March 24 an expedition of the British Royal Cave Association conducted a survey of limestone mountains in Lam Hoa commune where they discovered a pristine cave system. Running for a total length of 3,349m, the caves also feature underground rivers which are completely pristine. They have duly been named Hung Tru 1, Hung Tru 2, Hung Tru 3, Hung Ka Vong 1, and Hung Ka Vong 2. The British experts will continue to make use of boats and other support tools to delve further into the caves in the near future, Dung revealed. British explorers have a history of helping to investigate many caves in Quang Binh province, known as the nation’s kingdom of caves. Photo: NDO The General Union of Vietnamese in France (UGVF) on May 13 held a get-together and a photo exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreement on Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam (Paris Peace Accords) (January 27, 1973), VNA reported Sunday. UGVF President Vuong Huu Nhan said that the get-together aimed to share memories of a heroic period at the UGVF’s headquarters at No.16 on Petit Musc street, Paris – an important venue for negotiations on the Paris Peace Accords 50 years ago. He emphasized that the patriotic movement of Vietnamese people in France, of which the UGVF at that time was the core, greatly contributed to the agreement signing. Vietnamese teenager wins two gold medals at Asian Weightlifting Championships

Although Tung was unsuccessful in his initial two snatch efforts, he managed to score a total of 116-147-263 for all three clean and jerk lifts. Unique style of Red Dao traditional outfits

One of the groups is the Dao ethnic minority people who reside, for the most part, in the mountainous northern provinces of Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Ha Giang and Lang Son. The Red Dao are a subgroup of the Dao people, renowned for their colourful traditional costumes that leave an indelible impression on visitors. Tuyen Quang is home to nearly 91,000 Dao people from nine different subgroups, with the Red Dao people living mostly in the districts of Na Hang and Lam Binh. For the Red Dao, the way they dress symbolises their ethnicity and distinguishes them from others. They are easily identifiable by the predominance of red in their clothing as the colour is believed to bring luck, happiness, prosperity and positive energy to everybody.
