Volunteer artists bring life to dilapidated walls in Ho Chi Minh City’s alley

These captivating artworks are the result of the ‘Green Corner – Green Space’ contest, which aimed to enliven and energize the district. Several companies responded to the initiative by planting trees and beautifying their workplaces, shops, and restaurants. Many schools in the district have turned into vibrant spaces adorned with greenery and colorful drawings. Previously, Alley 195 on Nguyen Dinh Chinh Street was plagued by trash accumulation. Thanks to the environmental protection campaign launched by the People’s Committee of Ward 11, the alleyway has been transformed into a beautiful space with flower-covered walls. Pham My Hoa, a resident of the district, shared that due to numerous spontaneous trash dumpsites in her ward, she and her neighbors reached out to volunteers and philanthropists to beautify the streets and discourage littering. Kh’Leang Pagoda: A Treasured National Architectural Heritage in Soc Trang

Doi pagoda, which is just like the 500-year-old Kh’Leang pagoda, has been designated as a national heritage site for its remarkable architectural artistry. Compared to other Khmer pagodas in Soc Trang province, Kh’Leang remains mostly unchanged with minimal renovations. It is situated within a vast garden surrounded by various types of plants as well as palm and plumeria trees. Additionally, Kh’Leang pagoda is home to the Southern Pali Secondary School. Monk Sang No, the abbot of Kh’Leang pagoda and Head of the Executive Board of Soc Trang province’s Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, states, “The pagoda occupies a total area of approximately 3 hectares. The Pali Secondary School covers around 1 hectare. Initially constructed in 1532 with a thatched roof, the pagoda was subsequently expanded and rebuilt using bricks and tiles, resulting in a more spacious structure. VNSO to play in Seoul in celebration of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic relations

The event will also mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between both sides which began in 1992. The concert will be held under the baton of conductor Tetsuji Honna and will feature a performance by the VNSO’s members, Vietnamese pianist Nguyen Viet Trung, and Korean violinist Han Soo-jin. Viet Trung is a young Vietnamese talent who is most notably for having won a prize in the International Chopin Piano Competition held in Warsaw (Poland) in 2020. Han Soo-jin has performed a considerable amount of concerts, mainly in Britain where she won a competition held by the London Symphony Orchestra. He is also the first foreign leader to visit China after the Chinese Communist Party held its 22nd national congress in Beijing in mid-October 2022. Logo design contest held to mark Vietnam-Australia ties

The theme of the logo should capture both sides’ message of having enjoyed a 50-year partnership marked by friendship and co-operation across areas. According to the Australian Embassy in Vietnam, the logo should reflect the various achievements of both countries over the past five decades, and look forward to the future. The contest is open to all individuals until November 22. Contestants can submit multiple entries, although each entry requires a separate entry form. The winning logo design will be decided by Australia’s Ambassador to Vietnam and Vietnam’s Ambassador to Australia, with an announcement to be made through the Australian Embassy in Vietnam’s Facebook page and the Australian Ambassador’s Twitter account. The designer of the winning logo will also receive an invitation to one of the 50th anniversary celebrations to be held in 2023 in one of the four cities – Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Canberra, and Sydney. Hanoi’s first nightlife district inaugurated

Open daily from 4pm until 2am, the district offers visitors exciting gastronomy, entertainment and shopping experiences. The inauguration of the nightlife district, the first ever in the north, is part of a development plan for the night-time economy that the Government has orientated to promote the domestic economy, especially in the post-COVID-19 pandemic period. Huynh Van Son, Board Chairman of the Sea Star Sai Gon Company, the group implementing the model, said that the purpose of Hanoi’s first nightlife district is to be a new magnet for tourists by diversifying tourism products of the capital city.
