Michelin Guide Recognizes 103 Restaurants in Vietnam

Four restaurants in Vietnam have been honored with a star from the renowned French guidebook, Michelin Guide. Gia, Hibana by Koki and Tam Vi in Hanoi, and Anan Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City, have been rewarded for their high-quality cooking and remarkable culinary experiences. Gia, a Vietnamese contemporary restaurant in Hanoi run by chef Sam Tran, was given the award in recognition of its menu which varies with the seasons and is inspired by Vietnamese gastronomy. Sam Tran has also been granted the Michelin Young Chef Award, which acknowledges a young chef with exceptional talent and a great potential working in a Michelin-selected restaurant. Son was currently in the custody of the Liaoning Public Security Department in connection to a bribery case, according to an official at South Korea’s consulate-general in Shenyang. The official, who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the case, said the consulate had requested a meeting with Son as soon as possible and was in contact with his family.
