HCM City to Welcome Piano Players of Every Nation to Competition

Contestants will have the opportunity to compete in both professional and non-professional groups. The non-professional group is specifically for candidates of all nationalities who are not pursuing a piano major from professional music institutions such as the Conservatory of Music, Music Academies, Culture and Arts Colleges, or Universities with piano majors. All repertoires must strictly consist of classical music and cannot include styles such as Jazz, Blue, Broadway, Semi-Classical, or Pop Music. Furthermore, all pieces must be performed from memory without sheet music. The pieces played in different rounds cannot be identical, except for works of tables B, C, and D of the non-professional group, which can be repeated from round 1 to round 2. Vietnamese water puppet shows are held on June 30 and July 1, with the event featuring the daily life of farmers and common aspects of Vietnamese spiritual life. A total of 11 artists from the Vietnam Puppet Theatre are expected to introduce local folk art to the world, with this helping international friends to gain greater understanding of traditional Vietnamese culture.
