Speaking at the meeting, Uong Chu Luu assessed that the 22nd Assembly of the World Peace Council had been a great success, completing the proposed agenda such as approving a Political Declaration, electing the new Executive Committee, and successfully organizing the Hanoi Peace Conference. “Over the working days in Hanoi and Quang Ninh, the delegates have witnessed the positive changes of Vietnam – a country that has gone through a long period of painful and brutal wars. Delegates have also brought to Vietnam a sense of solidarity, and contributed your valuable opinions and profound comments on the peace situation regionally and globally” said Uong Chu Luu.
