New Hanoi-Inspired Mooncakes Arrive on the Scene

The Mid-Autumn Festival (15th day of the eighth lunar month or September 29 this year) is drawing near, and businesses are introducing unique collections of mooncakes that are not only delicious but also carry a cultural story. In Hanoi, the mooncake market is vibrant with many collections inspired by the capital’s culture. One of these collections is called Moonlight, inspired by the traditional lacquer painting “Autumn Moon Shadow” by artist Hoang Huu Van. It depicts a full moon night in August and the familiar images of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The Moonlight collection features mooncakes stored in lacquer boxes made by artisans from Ha Thai Lacquer Village in Hanoi. The use of traditional colors in the packaging evokes a sense of nostalgia and brings back childhood memories of the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival. Cuc Phuong National Park in Vietnam Awarded Asia’s Leading National Park for Fifth Consecutive Year

Bui Van Manh, the director of the provincial Department of Tourism, has confirmed the achievement of a win at the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA) on Monday morning. Some of the notable competitors of Cuc Phuong National Park include Chitwan National Park in Nepal, Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park in Japan, Kinabalu National Park in Malaysia, Komodo National Park in Indonesia, Minneriya National Park in Sri Lanka, and Taman Negara National Park in Malaysia. Cuc Phuong National Park, located 120 kilometers from Hanoi, is a revered nature reserve established on July 7, 1962. The national park spans across more than 22,000 hectares of land, encompassing 14 communes within four districts, spanning across the provinces of Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, and Thanh Hoa. Experience the Vibrancy of Hanoi’s Ethnic Village This August

More than 100 members from 15 ethnic groups living in the village will be participating in various activities. The Kho Mu community in Huoi Mot commune, located in Song Ma district of Son La province, will re-enact their traditional new home ceremony. Additionally, ethnic residents from the northern region will showcase their traditional brocade weaving and handicraft skills. There will be music and traditional dance shows performed by ethnic groups from the northern region. During weekends, village artisans will provide detailed introductions to traditional folk games and perform ethnic musical instruments. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience activities such as blowing the “Dinh Nam” instrument, singing “Ay ray,” playing the “Chapi” and “dan Ä‘a” instruments, singing songs about the Central Highlands, and playing folk games.
