The Hue Imperial City will offer visitors free admission between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm for the next three days, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center announced on Tuesday afternoon. During this period, visitors can take a tour to the Imperial City via the Chuong Duc and Hien Nhon gates at no charge. The offer is part of an exhibition of ornamental plants and orchids coming from the three regions of Vietnam. The exhibition will take place in the Hue Imperial City from April 27 to May 2. This is the third time that the Hue Monuments Conservation Center has offered free night admission to the Imperial City. In 2017, the center piloted offering night tours to the Imperial City in an attempt to diversify night-time tourism activities in the province’s Hue City. The capital city decided to review historical structures citywide and set aside funding to preserve these ancient buildings and promote their value, according to the steering board for urban embellishment and development in the 2021-25 period. The Kinh Thien Palace was built in 1428 during the reign of King Le Thai To, but it was completed in the reign of King Le Thanh Tong. This is the main relic site among others at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi. Apart from the Kinh Thien Palace, the city will restore many other historical and cultural structures such as the Vietnam Military History Museum, the Hoang Dieu Archeological Site, the Long Bien bridge area, and 131 railway arches. The five-day festival is taking place as part of activities aimed at celebrating the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification Day on April 30 and International Labour Day on May 1. The event draws the participation of 200 units, showcasing around 29,000 orchid braches and pots in the process.
