Preparatory visit made to isolated island districts before Tet



The purpose of the visit is to encourage them to remain strong in protecting the country’s sea and island sovereignty.


In Ly Son district, the officers and reporters toured administrative units and brought gifts to the staff working at the Ly Son Radar Station.


The delegation deliver Tet gifts to soldiers and local people in Con Co island district of Quang Tri province.


For their participation, military units have planned duty timetables to ensure their staff can enjoy a cozy Tet, which is the country’s largest festival of the year.

Hanoi’s first nightlife district inaugurated

Open daily from 4pm until 2am, the district offers visitors exciting gastronomy, entertainment and shopping experiences. The inauguration of the nightlife district, the first ever in the north, is part of a development plan for the night-time economy that the Government has orientated to promote the domestic economy, especially in the post-COVID-19 pandemic period. Hanoi's outdoor workers make a living on freezing cold nights

A mother and child sell food in Hai Ba Trung district at night. The heavy burden of earning a living falls on the poor workers’ shoulders every night. The colder it is, the harder their tasks are. A group of labourers work hard at night as they try to finish on schedule ahead of the Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet. Their shift starts at midnight and lasts until 4 a.m. each day. A worker is busy at night on Hang Khay street in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Poorer street sellers must make money whenever they can, forcing them to stay out in the freezing weather so that they can make ends meet. A candy floss seller waits for customers amid dingy conditions. Many street vendors are forced to close up early to go back home as business is too quiet due to the cold.
