The full moon day of January is the first full moon of the new year. There is a saying that “the whole year offering is not equal to that of the full moon day of January”. This is also the day that is considered an appropriate time for people and Buddhists to come to temples and pagodas to pray for a lucky, smooth, and peaceful new year. Phuc Khanh Pagoda
Phuc Khanh Pagoda is one of the most crowded pagodas in Hanoi every full moon in January. It is also known as So Pagoda, or Thinh Quang Pagoda. This is also one of the oldest and most sacred pagodas in the capital.
The Buddha hall in the temple is dignified and has 20 statues of high artistic value. Phuc Khanh Pagoda has 21 stone steles, the oldest being from 1698; 3 common red bells, the oldest bell was cast in 1796; 14 sets of robes (hammock doors) and other worship items such as bronze incense bowls, dragon thrones, and incense sticks.
This place is famous for being sacred, so every year many people gather here to worship Buddha and pray for peace.

Ha Pagoda
If other pagodas attract middle-aged and married people to pray for peace and fortune, Ha Pagoda is a destination for young people. This is because this is the most sacred place to pray for love in Hanoi. Ha Pagoda is also known as Thanh Duc Tu, located in Cau Giay District, Hanoi.
Ha Pagoda was built during the reign of King Le Thanh Tong (1460-1497). It is famous for being sacred and has attracted many visitors from all over the world. They often come here to visit and worship Buddha. Unmarried men and unmarried women come to Ha Pagoda and pray to find their other half. Couples in love also come to pray for their eternal happiness.

Tran Quoc Pagoda
Tran Quoc Pagoda is one of the most beautiful ancient pagodas in the world. This religious site is located in a very beautiful location, which is the only island of West Lake on Thanh Nien Street, so the feng shui is excellent.
Tran Quoc Pagoda is very sacred. Many Buddhists, visitors, and foreigners often come here. On the full moon day, especially the full moon of January, people flock here to pray for good fortune, health, and peace. It used to be the place where ancient kings came to visit and worship on the full moon days and Tet.

Quan Su Pagoda
Quan Su Pagoda is located at 73 Quan Su Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. It is the center of the Vietnamese Buddhist Community. This is a sacred place at the center of Hanoi. Quan Su Pagoda has a large architectural scale, three-tiered roof style. There is a bell tower in the middle.
The special thing is that it is one of the very few pagodas in the North where the pagoda’s name is also written in the national language. Not only that, the unique thing about this sacred place is that at Gian Quan Am, there is a statue of the monk Thich Thanh Tu, former Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. This statue is the size of a real person.

Tay Ho Pagoda
Tay Ho Pagoda is located on a large peninsula in the middle of West Lake, formerly an ancient village of Thang Long citadel located on the east side of West Lake. It is considered one of the holiest places to pray for good fortune on New Year’s Eve. This is also a destination that Buddhists think of on the full moon day and the first day of every month.
Since Tet, people have flocked here to burn incense and pray for peace. Especially, on the full moon day of January, a lot of people come here to pray for health, luck, and peace for their whole family.

Tao Sach Pagoda
Tao Sach Pagoda, also known as Linh Son Tu, is located in Nam Village, Nhat Tan Ward (No. 386 Lac Long Quan Street, Tay Ho District, Hanoi). This pagoda is very large, beautiful landscape, and is opposite West Lake. According to the inscriptions and couplets in the memorial, it is possible that the pagoda was built in the Early Le Dynasty.
Considered one of the most beautiful pagodas in Hanoi with unique architecture and located next to the windy West Lake, Tao Sach Pagoda is visited by a large number of residents and visitors, especially on the full moon of January. People come to see the sights, pray, and eat a vegetarian meal to purify their souls.
