National treasure goes on show in Bac Ninh province
The national treasure is kept at the Nam Hong museum. Its body has largely remained intact for thousands of years. Based on the shape, processing technique, and decorative patterns, it is said to date back between 2,200 and 2,300 years. The exhibition attracts plenty of visitors from Bac Ninh province, as well as those hailing from neighbouring localities. The jar is the only one among the 235 jars from the culture found in the nation that features decorative patterns of moving animals on its body. The museum also preserves thousands of historical items from Dong Son culture and different feudal periods. The Dong Son was a Bronze Age civilisation based in ancient Vietnam and centred at the northern Red River delta.
